Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF), facilitated by the SkinPen®, allows your skin to look its very best.

Over time and with age, our skin begins to show signs of lifestyle-induced or sun-induced damage such as fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, and uneven skin texture. These visible skin problems can often be inevitable and difficult to combat.

Here at REJUV AVE., our mission is to provide you with services that are proven to be effective for skin rejuvenation. We believe that healthy, vibrant skin is achievable by anyone with the proper care.

When it comes to healthy, beautiful skin, the smallest things can make the biggest difference. We have seen the amazing benefits and outcomes that micro-needling has proven to deliver time and time again. With that said, we are excited to be taking the next step in skin rejuvenation by offering PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) as an available add-on option to micro-needling! This treatment uses your body’s natural healing abilities to regenerate tissue and uses your blood to create healthy new cells. PRF is non-invasive and quickly rising in popularity due to its natural result and minimal downtime.

SkinPen® gives your skin the reset that it needs

Before we dive into PRF, let’s review micro-needling in case you’ve yet to experience this treatment. Our providers use and love the SkinPen®, the first FDA-cleared micro-needling device, that’s also made in the USA – which means it’s rigorously tested for safety. SkinPen® is a medical grade, state-of-the-art micro-needling device that stimulates skin repair through your body’s natural remodeling process. Micro-needling with SkinPen® allows for controlled induction of the skin’s self-repair process by creating precise, micro-injuries in the skin that automatically trigger new collagen and elastin synthesis without causing scar tissue formation. Micro-needling creates only minor trauma, which lasts for a short period of time. Your own Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) is combined with the micro-needling treatment, which is micro-needled into the skin. Any remaining PRP is then lightly massaged into the skin following the treatment.

What Is PRF?

Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) is commonly used for skin rejuvenation therapy, and can aid in reversing the signs of skin aging in areas like the face, neck and décolletage. PRF offers a unique advantage over other anti-aging treatments because of its natural properties. No other treatment utilizes the patient’s own blood to rejuvenate targeted regions of the body. This process makes PRF completely hypoallergenic. When blood is placed into a centrifuge (spinning device), it separates into three distinct layers: PRF on top, platelets and blood cells in the middle, and red blood cells at the bottom. PRF is derived from the center part, also known as “liquid gold”. The platelets contain pockets called alpha granules, which secrete high levels of proteins such as growth factors and cytokines. When platelet-rich plasma is reintroduced to skin on its own through a non-invasive procedure, cell turnover is stimulated, and in turn, collagen and elastin production is ramped up for a plumper, tighter, and smoother complexion. Plus, the healing process is significantly increased using PRF!

What Are The Benefits Of PRF Micro-needling?

• Brighter and smoother skin tone
• Helps to restore lost volume
• Reduction in fine lines and wrinkles
• Improve appearance of acne and acne scarring
• Reduce pore size and tighten the skin
• Stimulate collagen
• Improve the appearance of pigmentation and sun damage
• Increased healing time

What Is The Process Like?

Now, you’re probably wondering how your blood goes from flowing through your veins to spread onto your face. First, we draw blood from your arm. Then, the vial of blood is placed in a centrifuge to isolate the platelets from the red blood cells. This process only takes 10 minutes! Your face is numbed using a topical medication cream for 20 minutes to reduce pain from micro-needling. After you are numb, we begin the process of micro-needling the Platelet Rich Plasma into the skin. The Skinpen® is used to push the PRP into the skin and glides freely and easily over the skin.

What Recovery and Results Can Be Expected?

Most patients experience some minor redness and swelling for one to three days after treatment. When adding on PRF, the recovery time is significantly sped up. You will be provided with aftercare instructions that should be followed carefully to avoid complications and achieve the best results possible. Patients often notice an immediate glow, but visible improvement relies on the body’s healing ability, so your skin will continue to improve over the next two to four weeks. A series of treatments is recommended.

It’s time to get the beautiful, glowing skin you’ve always wanted!
